John Green is my all time favourite writer. I discovered him through Tumblr (www.fishingboatproceeds.tumblr.com) and Youtube. I am a "nerdfighter" as his fans is named. I bought his book, The Fault is in Our Stars, randomly in an airport. It's a really good book, and I cried for half an hour. But it's not TFIOS I'm going to talk about, it's the author.
John Micheal Green is born August 24, 1977, is an amercican author and Youtube video blogger. He is 36 years old, and lives in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA, with his wife Sarah Urist Green, and his two children Henry and Alice Green. His debut novel is Looking For Alaska, which he won a Printz Award for, and he is also the man behind the successful, New York Times best seller, The Fault Is In Our Stars. He is also 1/2 of the Vlogbrothers on Youtube, where the other one is his brother Hank.
John Green was a born in
Indianapolis to Sydney and Mike Green, but already three weeks after
he was born, his family moved to Orlando, Florida. He attended the
Indian Spring Schools, which he also used as setting for the
pricewinning Looking for Alaska, a boarding school outside of
Birmingham, Alabama. He graduated from Kenyon Collage in 2009 with a
double major in English and Religious studies. Later on he worked as a student at childrens hospital, and while enrolled at University of Chicago Divinity School, although, he didn't attend the school.
He and his brother Hank created a confernece named Vidcon. It's an annual conference for the online community of youtube. The event draws many popular Youtube users, and their fans. Hank states "We wanted to get as much of the online video community together, in one place, in the real world for a weekend. It's a celebration of the community, with performances, concerts, and parties; but it's also a discussion of the explosion in community-based online video."
My personal opinion is that John Green is a role model. He makes a lot of good points in his videoes, and his books is a proof that you don't need a lot of difficult and big words to make a good book.
